Speech Therapy
Exceeding Expectations, One Patient at a Time
Speech therapy is treatment that improves the ability to talk and use other language skills. It helps to express thoughts and understand what other people are saying. Speech therapy can also improve memory and problem solving skills.
A speech-language pathologist (SLP, or speech therapist) finds exercises and treatments that address specific needs. Some people need help talking and communicating. Others need speech therapy to process and understand language better.
Speech therapy can help improve:
-
Early language skills (especially children learning to talk and communicate)
-
Ability to use one's voice
-
Language comprehension
-
Fluency
-
Clarity and expression
